Design at Kent

Design shapes the way we understand, experience, and engage with the world around us. At the School of Arts & Architecture, University of Kent, our Design programmes continue to champion a simple ethos: Big Ideas, Beautifully Made.

This year's show theme, Connect, reflects the relationships at the heart of creative education, between disciplines, communities, industries, and ideas. Across Graphic Design and Spatial & Interior Design, students have explored themes including identity, ecology, technology, culture, accessibility, and participation, creating work that spans print, branding, moving image, digital environments, installation, and spatial experience.

Through research, experimentation, making, and collaboration, students are encouraged to think critically, engage with contemporary challenges, and consider how design can contribute positively to society. Alongside developing creative skills, they connect with professional practice through live projects, mentoring, portfolio reviews, visiting speakers, and industry engagement.

Most importantly, this work celebrates the creativity, curiosity, resilience, and ambition of our students. We are delighted to share it with you.
